As the current Solicitor General of Thomas County, Mr. Pope is the leading prosecutor responsible for prosecuting all misdemeanor offenses occurring within the limits of Thomas County. He served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Moultrie, Thomasville, and Valdosta offices of the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney from 1999 until he left the District Attorney's Office in 2004 to open his own practice.

Since 2004, he has maintained a private practice, first as Pope and Jewell and presently as 'The Andrew W. Pope Firm' located at 2024 East Pinetree Boulevard, Thomasville, GA. His private practice has included Civil and Criminal Litigation with trials in Superior and State Courts, Juvenile Law, Child Support Law, Domestic Relations, Estates, Trusts, and Wills.

Andrew W. Pope is highly involved in the community by serving in Kiwanis as Past President and President of the Backpack Buddies Foundation. He also serves on the committee for Oakfest. This annual music festival has raised over $150,000 for the children of the Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center.
